Regardless of the efforts of Federal, State and Local governments/social services, family homelessness continues to grow due to poverty, domestic violence and loss of youthful parents (through addiction, illness, abandonment, incarceration, death, etc). Welfare agencies are increasingly confronted with the growing inability of families to acquire and maintain permanent housing!

What is more important than caring for the “least among us”? That is what distinguishes Americans from the rest of the world. Despite efforts of Federal, State and Local governments as well as Social Services, systemic poverty continues to grow in Stark County (13% of the population). Two factors account for the increasing poverty: the eroding employment opportunities for large segments of the workforce and the declining value of public assistance (National Coalition for the Homeless, June 2006). Families receiving public assistance, receive a fixed amount of a few hundred dollars a month for basic needs, such as housing, food and healthcare.

Our “faith based” model attacks these issues with a 18-month year “continuum of care” approach that provides, coaching and training for families that are in poverty or low income/working poor (25% of Ohians over age 18 made less than $10. an hour in 2007) Our focus is prevention and moving families and individuals out of poverty. A true, long term “win-win-win” for the poor, the community and the economy that will finally begin to break the generational cycle.

Why Our Program Will Work

Holistic Solution

One Family At a Time is a start-up comprehensive program to assist those in poverty and prevents families from moving into poverty in Stark County. Our program will respond to the needs of these families with life skill education, coaching, employment counseling, health and wellness consulting with local community involvement and business partnerships.

Our Mission is to provide 18 months of support services and holistic life skill training to impoverished and working poor families and move them into being productive, healthy, employed and self sufficient.

Our Vision is to break the cycle of poverty in Stark County through empowering individuals and families to overcome and succeed.

Imagine a holistic, health and wholeness mentoring training program that moves one from dependency to self-sufficiency, within 18 months, a proven curriculum that transforms individuals and communities.

We have people on our staff that have worked with federal, state and local agencies that have matching funds available for a program such as this.

Successful Track Record

We have people on staff that has experience working with the social services needed to counsel our families.

Follow-Up Program

There is a program in place to aid and assist families’ after they have left our our program.

We are part of Deos Destiny Designs a chartered 501c3 organization with The International Congress of Churches and Ministers (ICCM) since 2007, that reaches out to people to train them in discovering their purpose and life skills to fulfill their dreams and destiny and become healthy and emotionally whole.

We are a non-profit organization (Deos Destiny Designs) that needs tax deductible donations from corporations, foundations, churches and individuals to meet the socio-economic needs of poverty families by offering services that will:

• Give them hope instead of despair
• Truth instead of lies
• Hope and solid training to change thier lives
• Provisions instead of hunger, cold and nakedness
